Cuba Protects Biodiversity from the Bay of Cádiz to Los Caimanes National Park.
As part of those actions, authorities in the central province of Villa Clara are carrying out a project to learn about the negative effects of men's actions on the marine platform.

Experts from the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment will take samples and make an inventory of the region's species.

The area to be evaluated runs from the Bay of Cádiz to Los Caimanes National Park, and includes the Picúa-Cayo del Cristo and Lanzanillo-Pajonal-Fragoso fauna safe havens.

The specialists will study the current situation of coral reefs, mangrove swamps and fish, some of which are in danger of extinction.

The research will contribute to handling marine resources and tourist activity better in order not to damage the environment.
