Cuba to be Immunized over 343,000 children under the age of three

Public health officials announced that the first stage of the campaign includes over 343,000 children under the age of three. Then, during the second stage, a reactivation dose will be administered to some 142,000 nine-year-olds.

Poliomyelitis was eradicated in Cuba in 1962. The entire Cuban population under 61 years of age is protected against this disease.

Cuban newborns are vaccinated against serious preventable diseases such as polio, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles, rubella, neonatal tetanus, meningitis and tuberculosis.
