A communiqué released expresses that Vilma will always be in the hearts of Cubans because of her efforts in leading Cuban women to be vanguards in defense, studies and work.
"This revolutionary Cuban woman was able to give birth to children like our five heroes, examples of courage in jails of the Empire from where their force emerges and advances around the world in their fight against the terrorism of the world police," it adds.
"Vilma Espin represents the purest of the women of our homeland, heroic in the education of their children, in the Revolution and in achieving what our Fidel Castro called for. We want our children to be like Che," the association emphasizes.
