Late Cuban marathon runner Félix Carvajal, also known as Andarín Carvajal, was honored in his hometown, San Antonio de los Baños, in western Havana province.

Carvajal finished fourth in the San Luis Marathon, held in the United States in 1904, after leading most of the race.

On this occasion, San Antonio de los Baños's Runners' Club, which was named after Félix Carvajal, celebrated its 20th anniversary. The Club organizes competitions, including a 10-km marathon race.
Precisely, 109 athletes from all over the country competed in the 2008 race.
