The book ‘Silvio poeta’ (Silvio, the Poet) by young philologist Suyín Morales is now a reality. With this work, Suyín won the prize of the research project contest, sponsored by the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Cultural Center.
The publishing house Ediciones La Memoria, belonging to the previously mentioned cultural institution, launched the book at the end of August, in the framework of the Summer Readings program, sponsored by Cuba’s Book Institute and the Young Communist League (UJC), among other Cuban institutions.
The book presentation during the summer was a prelude of the official launching, set for October 22nd. On that day, the world-famous Cuban singer-songwriter will give a concert in Old Havana, as part of activities on occasion of the 10th anniversary of the project ‘A guitarra limpia’ developed by the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Cultural Center.
The photo exhibit ‘Imágenes de una Expedición’ (Images of an Expedition) will also be inaugurated. It includes pictures taken by Silvio himself.
