Houses Built in Cienfuegos Cuba
Specialized brigades are reconverting the former company PLASTIMEC into a plant that will produce the elements necessary to build 4,430 houses in 2009.

Investments are estimated at some 80 million dollars and are part of efforts to develop a petrochemical complex in Cienfuegos.

The factory will produce profiles, hydraulic modules and artificial wood, as well as carpentry elements for the houses.

The construction materials mostly come from Venezuela. The equipment was imported from Germany and Austria and contains Brazilian-made components.

The plant is scheduled to start up operations during the first trimester of 2009.
