Heavy rains were reported over the past 24 hours in Cuban Province of Holguin
The rain comes as a result of favorable conditions in the higher troposphere combined with local factors such as an increase in humidity in lower areas of the region, a warm air mass from the Caribbean, and sea breezes.

Jorge Proenza and Jose Labrada, of the Provincial Meteorology Center, said intense precipitations have been reported in the areas of Cristino Naranjo in Cacocum, with 190 millimeters, and in Mejías, in Urbano Noris, with more than 151 mm.

Other significant rainfalls were registered in Cacocum (132 mm), in the basin of the Nipe reservoir (125 mm), in Cueto (107 mm), and in Barajagua (100 mm).

Weather conditions remain favorable for further rainfall in the next 12 to 24 hours.
