The President of the Executive Council of the United Nations’ Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, Alissandra Cummins, will attend the 10th Regional Meeting on the Management of Historical Centers in Latin America and the Caribbean to take place in Havana.

The event is scheduled for May 15-18 and was organized by the Havana Historian’s Office along with UNESCO’s Regional Culture Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (ORCALC) on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the inclusion of Old Havana and its system of fortresses in the List of World Heritage Sites.

UNESCO’s diplomatic sources announced that Cummins will address participants at the opening of the meeting, as well as ORCALC Director Herman van Hooff.

The meeting will focus on the economic sustainability of historical centers as a responsibility that should be shared
