Specialists from the Center for Applied Linguistics (CLA) in Santiago de Cuba are preparing the first acoustic dictionary for blind that will exist in Cuba.

Leonel Ruiz, director of that institution, reported that expect to finalize the dictionary in July after a "complicated processes" of processing, which involved announcers local radio stations for recording more than 12,000 entries.

The official said, according to the information it has, do not exist or are very few dictionaries with these features in Latin America and the Caribbean. He hoped it also helpful for people of advanced age.

This work will add to the Basic School Dictionary of CLA and other texts dedicated to teaching the Spanish language and improvement, including learning by foreigners, he said.
