Tropical storm Erika is expected to approach the Leeward Islands or Northern Lesser Antilles on Wednesday night or early on Thursday as it is moving westward as fast as 20 miles per hour, 31 kilometers per hour, though its speed is to lower over the next 48 hours.
 According to the Tuesday 8:am advisory by the National Hurricane Center, Erika was located near latitude 14.8 North, longitude 50.2 West earlier this morning, and having maximum sustained winds near 45 km per hour and higher gusts. The storm could strengthen over the next couple of days and at present its winds extend outwards up to 80 miles or 130 kms from the storm center.
 Saint Maarten authorities issued a tropical storm watch, meaning that tropical storm conditions are possible in the watch area in 48 hours.
