The main brand of Cuban cigars, Cohiba, will celebrate its 50th birthday in 2016, with vast expectations of a thawing of ties between Havana and Washington. This would mean millions of extra dollars for the firm in selling its products to the US.
The US is the major world market for premium cigars and would certainly mop up many Cohibas once Congress lifts the embargo which has been in place for over 50 years.
