Cuba will be the venue for the fourth Ibero-American Meeting of Museums and Historic Centers, convened by the Office of Havana City historian May 22-25.

Cuba implements measures to boost tourism
In order to increase tourist arrivals in Cuba, authorities announced a series of measures that will make it easier for travelers to fly to the Caribbean Island. Heriberto Prieto, first vice president of the Civil Aeronautic Institute, said that the new measures are aimed at boosting Cuba's tourist industry.
Cuba to make functional evaluation of the elderly
Cuba's Research Center on Longevity, Aging and Health (CITED) is developing a laboratory to assess the physiological functions of senior citizens. A multidisciplinary team of the institution located in Havana has been working on the project for 15 years.

Vietnam and Cuba to establish transport consultancy joint venture
Vietnam's Ministry of Transport and Communication and the Cuban Ministry of Construction have agreed to establish a consultancy joint venture company by 2008.

Idaho Potato Commission opening doors to Cuba
The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC) was recently part of a delegation of 35 Idahoans, including Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter, who traveled to Cuba to meet with government officials to discuss trade opportunities between Cuba and Idaho. The Commission focused primarily on ways to sell fresh and/or processed Idaho Potatoes into Cuba as potatoes are an important staple in the Cuban diet.
