Cuban cinema season opens in Chile

A Cuban cinema season, including the documentary by Oliver Stone "Comandante," a profound interview with President Fidel Castro, began at Santiago de Chile Tuesday and runs until August 28.
The cycle, sponsored by Chilean Foundation of Images in Movement and the Cuban Embassy, includes three films addressed to children: "Vampiros en La Habana," "Mas Vampiros en La Habana" and "Elpidio Valdes, " all by Juan Padron.
"El Brigadista" by Octavio Cortazar, "Clandestinos" by Fernando Perez, "Retrato de Teresa" by Pastor Vega and "Guantanamera" by Tomas Gutierrez Alea and Juan Carlos Tabio will also be screened.
Chilean Foundation of Images in Movement, chaired by Abdullah Ommidvar, is dedicated, among other cultural activities, to the rescue, conservation, restoration, study and diffusion of film heritage, domestic as well as international.
