Cuba and the US emerged as leaders of Pan American baseball to dispute the gold medal Friday morning, after beating Nicaragua and Mexico, respectively.
The US team was the only one unbeaten in the preliminary round, while Cuba lost one game to Panama at the beginning of the competition and won over Mexico, Venezuela and Nicaragua.
This is the 12th consecutive time that Cuba goes to the finals in Pan American baseball, and the tenth time it goes for the gold since Cali, 1971.
