Ibero-America hails cuban literacy course

Both agreements are part of the 15 points of the Declaration of Valparaiso, a neighboring port hosting the preparatory conference for the 17th Ibero-American Summit to be held in Santiago in November.
The conference, which gathered representatives of the 22 regional countries, reiterated its promise of eradicating illiteracy and universalizing basic education.
The document says, in this reference, we recognize the achievements of the initiatives "Yo Si Puedo," Basic Literacy Teaching Program for Adults - PAEBA and other plans and programs implemented in the region.
Cuban Education Minister Luis Ignacio Gomez spoke about the achievements of his country's educational system and implementation of the Revolution's educational programs and explained Cuba's solidarity and support to other countries.
