The choral group, under the direction of Maestra Alina Orraca, will soon perform in Montecenis and in the church of Bazoches, where the mortal remains of French military architect Sebastien Le Pestre Vauban (1633-1707) rest.
The piece "Requiem for the memory of Vauban", by young composer Enguerrand Firedrich Lühl, was interpreted by singers from Cuba, Spain, Hungary, England, Italy, Poland and Romania, along with the Chamber Orchestra of Bourgogne under the direction of Maestro Pierre Cao of Luxembourg.
The festival, dedicated to Vauban this year commemorating the 300th anniversary of his death, takes place annually in Autun, a city in the French region of Borgogne, to which Morvan - founded two thousand years ago by the Romans - belongs.
During the reign of Louis XVI, the great humanist built several fortresses and civil facilities and contributed to the protection of people along the French border. Many of these fortresses have been declared World Heritage Sites.
