Cuban homeruns defeat Japan

Two homeruns by first baseman Jose Julio Ruiz and one by Yosvani Peraza sentenced the match in favor of the Cuban team, now leaders of the event, with two wins in he same number of opportunities.
Ruiz, sixth in the Cuban line-up, got two hits, both over the fence, and batted-in three runs, while Peraza achieved a homerun and another two hits in four ups at bat, besides towing four runs.
For Cuba, right-hander Alberto Bicet worked seven innings, accepting three runs and seven hits, while Vladimir Garcia worked the two remaining innings.
Japan, on the other hand, used six pitchers, the first of them, Syota Kawarai, worked only for two innings and was the defeated one after permitting five hits and five runs.
Cuban manager Victor Mesa used the same line-up of the previous day: Carlos Tabares (cf), Héctor Olivera (2b), Alexei Bell (rf), Yosvani Peraza (DH), Donald Duarte (3b), Jose Julio Ruiz (1b), Osvaldo Arias (c), Yasser Gomez (rf) and Rudy Reyes (ss), with replaces by Alexander Ayala, Reutilio Hurtado, Alfredo Despaigne, Roberquis Videaux and Yenier Bello.
