The first plane will be used for mid-distance cargo transport. The other two will be for passengers and are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2007.
The new aircraft add to the three IL-96-300 long-distance planes purchased by Cubana Airlines and constitute an important step in the renovation of the companys international fleet, as well as increasing both passenger and cargo transport capabilities.
Executives from Cubana Airlines, Civil Aeronautics officials and diplomats from the Russian embassy were among those on hand to receive the new plane.
