Right-hander Yadel Marti won the game throwing eight innings in which he struck out eight and allowed only four hits and one unearned run.
The island's 14-hit offense was led by Alfredo Despaigne (HR, RBI), Rudy Reyes (2 for 4, 2 RBIs), Jose Julio Ruiz (2 for 3, RBI, 2 Runs) and Yosvani Peraza (2 for 3, RBI).
In the other result on Sunday, Chinese Taipei beat the United States 10-5.
The tournament is being played using a double round robin format with the top two squads facing each other for the title on August 12th.
After three days, Cuba tops the table with three victories in as many outings. The United States is second (2-1) while Chinese Taipei is third (2-2). The Netherlands (1-2) and Japan (0-3) close the standings.
On Monday, Cuba faces the United States and the Netherlands take on Japan.
