Over 250 children have been treated since the center opened in the locality of Aguada de Pasajeros in August, 2003. Among the most commonly treated diseases are brain paralysis, arthrogryposis multiplex, hyperactive dysfunction, and muscular dystrophy type Duchenne.
The CIRN Director, Rolando Veloz, told ACN that applying the corresponding treatment on each patient according to their sickness has made it possible for a slow but firm improvement of language skills, physical-motor development, knowledge acquisition and social approach of the children.
These common related consequences that slow down the normal development of children and contribute to a difficult family life are minimized, Veloz added.
