On that day, a photo exhibition called "Vilma's Fights" will be inaugurated in Havana and also in Santiago de Cuba and it will remain open for 20 days before it tours other provinces of the country.
"Our best tribute to our beloved and unforgettable Vilma is to improve the work of the FMC," the FMC General Secretary in the province of Havana, Teresa Hernandez Morejon, told CAN.
She added that women should strengthen the political and ideological work prior to the upcoming general elections on the island, when many of them will be nominated as candidates for municipal and provincial assemblies and also for the National Parliament.
"The women of Havana will also be working, like all the women of our nation, in the consolidation of the programs of the Revolution, the electoral process and the fight against the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, among other tasks," Hernandez Morejon noted.
"The province of Havana celebrates the 47th anniversary of the FMC with a women's employment rate of 45.5% and with 72% of all the technical force in the diverse areas of production and services," she stressed.
The sectors in which women have more participation include education, public health and the textile industry.
