Local authorities" estimate evacuation at about 16 thousand inhabitants in the south and the bordering strip of this district.
Facing the changes of the storm"s path, the director of Civil Protection Ernesto Martinez reported that tracks have been sent to the municipalities of that area The official recognized the extremely erratic route of this phenomenon and the presence of an area of high pressure in the Caribbean that pushes it to Yucatan peninsula.
He said the evacuation will be preventive due to high risk precedents of previous hurricanes like Isidoro and Wilma in 2002 and 2005, respectively.
