Female Son group to debut in London

The feminine "Morena Son" group from Santiago de Cuba will perform for the first time at the Floridita restaurant in London this month, Provincial Music Center reported Thursday.
Morena Son, founded almost ten years ago, is composed of seven young women instrumentalist-singers, who promote the traditional music of the Island, specifically the repertoire of Miguel Matamoros, Compay Segundo and Sindo Garay.
The septet has a namesake disc, recorded at Siboney Studio of EGREM (Records and Music Editions), and a successful tour along northern Italy.
Floridita restaurant, replica of the famous Havana bar frequently visited by famous US writer Ernest Hemingway, welcomes representatives of Cuban culture in London.
