Japanese parliamentary official visits Cuba

Yokomichi noted that this is a special moment to deepen ties with Cuba since Japanese relations between Central America and the Caribbean have progressively increased over the last few years.
He said that several Japanese organizations have special interest to boost new economic projects with Cuba and stressed the bilateral agreements already established between the two countries in the field of sports, especially in combat sports, volleyball and baseball.
"It in the interest for Tokyo and Havana to obtain a balance in relations through culture and sports," he added. Katahiro Yokomichi is also scheduled to meet with Cuban Parliament Vice President Jaime Crombet and Government Minister Ricardo Cabrisas.
