Cuba animates childrens animated films

The festival screenings at the movie theatre Gaumont in Buenos Aires, Argentina, features 120 films of 27 nations being among others, Russia, Germany, Israel, Iran, Holland, France and Greece.
One of the events momentums came with Cubas animated films featuring director Juan Pardons anthological adventures of Elpidio Valdés, in recognition to a notable Latin American creator.
Fronteras y migraciones is the spirit behind the gathering that provides space for exchange, communication, lectures, workshops and round-table conferences.
Topping the list of the Barrilete de Oro Award-competing feature-length film are Uranya by Costas-Kapakas and Azur y Asmar by Michel Ocelot.
In opposition to the "scrap iron project" a regional cinema movement comes up to defend and enhance the peoples nationalities and cultures. "More than 90 % of the cartoons watched regionally have a sound-era-Hollywood origin, which does not meet our childrens expectations any longer", as shown at the 2007 New Look Film Festival.
