The company Combinado Lácteo Escambray, in central Cuba, has benefited from an investment program to increase dairy production.
The firm, which produces up to 40 percent of the country's ice cream output, was equipped with state-of-the-art technology that saves water and electricity.
The improvements, which guarantee a substantial increase in the plant's refrigeration capacity, will contribute to varying production and improving quality.
According to plans, more than two million gallons of ice cream will go to the domestic market this year.
At the same time, the plant resumed production of high-quality Blue Cheese, after the three-decade-old machinery was renovated.
