To Sancti Spiritus, capital of the trios in Cuba, returns the fiesta, the serenade and the conference about a centennial form of singing to life, when more than twenty groups meet at the National Meeting of Trios, to be celebrated from September 27 to 29 of the current year in this city.

The trova tradition of Sancti Spiritus has had Miguel Companioni among its best initiators and exponents; author of Mujer Perjura, founder of the first trio in 1910, and Rafael Gómez Mayea (Teofilito) who was the creator of the immortal melody Pensamiento, musical symbol of the city, just to mention the ones that have transcended the boundaries the most.
