The product has had great acceptance in the region because of the respect earned by Cuban medicine, explained Luis Lopez, who is in charge of marketing for the Salvadoran Lopez Labs in Havana.

Labeled as Biotrofed, Lopez Labs markets this Cuban biotechnology product in countries including El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and has already introduced 100 products in the Cuban market, either for the Cubanacan tourism and international health pharmacies or for the local distribution network.

Lopez Labs, present in Cuba since 1994, also imports culture mediums produced by Cuba's research center BIOCEN and has plans to expand to Mexico, the US, Panama, Costa Rica, Russia and several countries in Eastern Europe.
