Cuba at a regional Book Fair in Brazil

The ambassador of the island in Brazil, Pedro Juan Mosquera talked of the cultural integration of the American nations at the opening of the fair, which is the third most important in the country. He said it was a privilege for Cuba to be invited as guest of honor to the event.
Over the weekend, Cuban and Brazilian musicians went on stage at the Convention Center of Belen, in the Brazilian state of Pará, to give a concert of Cuban music that delighted the audience.
Books by Cuban writers, including Julia Calzadilla, well-known for her writings for children and youth, were presented on the last couple of days in the literary forum. Meanwhile, national edition prize winner, editor Teresa Blanco, gave a lecture about Alejo Carpentiers Chronicles of Letter and Sol-fa. According to the Fairs website, there are 110 stands and more than 85,000 titles available at Parás artistic and literary forum from Peru, French Guyana, Spain, Ecuador, France and Portugal. The Cuban pavilion houses books from several editorial labels, including Casa de las Americas.
The 11th Pan-Amazonia Book Fair in Pará will run until October 7.
