Exchanging experiences in assisting patients infected with AIDS in Cuba are the center of debates in the 5th National Scientific Event of GP AIDS, the Prevention Group, as reported Monday in Havana by an organizing committee member.
Jorge Campos Diaz, from the Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute (IPK) told Prensa Latina that during the event, they would share working experiences of Cuban groups and the progress made all over the Island.
The event started on Monday and will continue up to Friday, at Los Cocos, Santiago de las Vegas, south of Havana, where people infected and sick with AIDS are being assisted.
The works made with sick people in the provinces and institutions will be known during the sessions, as well as strategies to fight AIDS in Cuba.
Cuba has a low incidence of AIDS, thanks to the strategies for prevention and educational campaigns in the country through the media.
