Cuba elected on UNESCO's sports committee

Cuba was unanimously elected member of the Intergovernmental Committee for Physical Education and Sports of the UNESCO, during the 34th UN General Conference.
Arnaldo Rivero, director of the Cuban National Sports, Physical Education and Recreation Institute, told Prensa Latina that this is a recognition of the country's work, dedication and efforts.
We have presented several initiatives and strategies in the course of the years to develop sports, always well received within the UNESCO, Rivero stated.
Physical education and its role in the society, the use of human resources, science and sports, among others, will be analyzed in next sessions of the biannual UNESCO Assembly.
