The VII National Championship of Philately of Cuba will take place in this capital since next October 27 until November 3.

The Convent San Francisco de Asis, located in the historical patrimony area of Havana will be the headquarters of this competition in which philatelists of the Island will present more than 90 collections, some of them winners of international prizes.

This gathering will be dedicated to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the first Official International Air Mail Service of Cuba.

José Raul Lorenzo, president of the Cuban Philatelic Federation, asserted to AIN that this event will consolidate a field where the best juvenile collectors have been born and who have represented Cuba in world competitions.

Among the classes in which awards will be granted there appears that of Champions (collections that meet the requirements established in the Regulation of Exhibitions of the National federation), Traditional Philately, Postal History, Wholes.

Postcards, Aero-philately.

Another of the themes that will be distinguished are Fiscal, Thematic Philately, Maximophilia, Juvenile Philately, Open Class, Collections (thematic or specialized), as well as Literature.
