International Storyteller's Conference Hosted by Venezuela
Cuban writers Marilyn Bobes and Senel Paz are participating in the First International Storytellers Conference beginning last Monday in Caracas, Venezuela, and running until November 9th.

Marylin Bobes told this agency that she will be reading abstracts from her most recent novel, which is not finished yet, and from her latest release as well. This will be a good opportunity to exchange with the audience, said the writer, who has been awarded twice with the Casa de Las Americas prize in short story and novel categories.

The other participating writer, Senel Paz, is the author of "The Forest, the wolf and the new man," on which Oscar-nominated film Fresa y Chocolate was based. He said his latest novel is expected to come out soon. Paz is also known as a screenwriter.

The forum is organized by the Andres Bello Foundation, Monte Avila Publishing House, and Romulo Gallegos Latin American Studies Center, according to media sources.

The program of events includes narration workshops, discussions and book presentations with different venues in Caracas, Valencia and Merida, all in Venezuela.

The storyteller's conference will give way to the third international book fair of the South American beginning November 9th.

Writers, editors, scholars and distributors from 26 countries have confirmed their participation in the fair, said a report by Radio Nacional de Venezuela. The website for the fair also announced that the slogan of the event will be: "United States, a possible revolution."
