Cuba Favors People Oriented Economic Policies

Referring to Cuba, Lage said that under austere living conditions, amidst the most prolonged blockade in history, the Cuban people are defending the unity and dignity of the nation.
The head of the Cuban delegation at the Ibero-American Summit and Chilean President Michele Bachelet held a cordial exchange on strengthening bilateral relations and discussed Cuban cooperation in health, education and biotechnology.
Chilean Foreign Minister Alejandro Foxley informed that Lage invited Bachelet to visit Cuba; the Chilean leader sent greetings to Cuban President Fidel Castro, First Vice President Raul Castro and the Cuban people.
Likewise, it was reported that in the meeting between Lage and Bachelet, the Chilean president expressed her interest and desire to visit the Caribbean nation. Cuban Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque and Ambassador Giraldo Mazola were also present at the meeting.
