Cubas LABIOFAM pharmaceutical laboratory will assist Brazil in its fight against the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, transmitter of dengue fever, said company sources on Sunday.
Mavi Hernandez, a vector control specialist, told Prensa Latina that in the effort LABIOFAM will use its Griselef and Bactivec biolarvicides, prizewinners at the recently held 25th Havana International Trade Fair.
Hernandez said the products have been successfully used in Cuba and have acheived important results in Central and South America, and Africa.
Likewise, Hernandez noted that a pilot program in the Brazilian Amazon to control malaria began recently with the help of 42 specialists from LABIOFAM.
