Congress on Pneumologic Diseases Open in Cuba

The Second Congress Pneumocaribe 2007 opened Thursday in the Cuban eastern province of Santiago de Cuba and will run until November 24.
Some of the main topics of debate at the event include the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases such as bronchial asthma, tuberculosis and pulmonary cancer.
Specialists from across the island will discuss risk factors, therapies and new medications developed to fight respiratory ailments.
Pneumocaribe'2007 is sponsored by the Cuban Scientific Society of Pneumology and its provincial branch in Santiago de Cuba.
The meeting, which takes in round tables, lectures and posters, aims to promote scientific knowledge among the Cuban experts in the field of pneumologic diseases.
