The National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities demanded today closing of the US prison at its illegal military base in Guantanamo, Cuba.
The US-based organization averred that Washington must respect human rights and not twist the concept to assault countries against its policies, especially in migratory issues.
The group advocated legal reform and elimination of the criminalization of undocumented immigrants, and said it is working with civil organizations stateside and abroad to immediately halt immigrant abuse.
The Alliance said a sure way for the US to reduce the volatile migratory situation is to focus on its internal demand for illegal drugs and arms traffic, as well as develop alternative strategies for small farmers.
