Cuban athlete Yumari Gonzalez received the bronze medal Friday in the scratch specialty corresponding to the second day of the World Cup in Beijing.
Gonzalez finished third after Dutch athlete Marianne Vos and Australian Belinda Goss, and she said the race was difficult because she had no partner in it.
"I am happy, but not satisfied, because my aspiration was to get the gold medal," Gonzalez said.
She was the only Cuban team member who qualified for the finals in this modality.
Her teammate Lisandra Guerra finished in eighth place in the speed specialty.
