Indian House Speaker Praises Cuba

On his second day in Cuba, president of India's Lok Sabha (House of the People-lower house) Somnath Chatterjee said to reporters on Tuesday he was impressed how a small country like Cuba has advandced so much without foreign influences.
After visiting the Molecular Immunology Center, Chatterjee was received by Cuban Foreign Affairs Minister Felipe Perez Roque, and during their dialogue praised Cuba's scientific, technical, social and economic development.
Chatterjee will also visit the "Cerro Pelado" Graduate School for High Athletes and the Latin American Medical School.
Chatterjee pointed out that, despite so many problems and obstacles, Cuba is progressing and achieving in different fields.
The Lok Sabha president arrived in Cuba with several legislative representatives for an official visit that will end January 10.
