Cuban play writer José Milián to win National Theater Award

The Cuban play writer José Milián received here unanimously the 2008 National Theater Award, given as a recognition to "his extensive and sustained artistic work."
The jury highlighted yesterday "his inescapable texts within national play writing."
Considered one of the most prolific theater workers in the country, Milián is the author of more than 50 pieces, among which are included Vade retro, La toma de La Habana por los ingleses (The capture of Havana by the English), Si vas a comer espera por Virgilio (If you are going to eat wait for Virgilio) and Estado de locura (State of madness).
In the year 2007 the award went to the actor and director René de la Cruz, the designers María Elena Molinet and Eduardo Arocha and the director of plays for children René Fernández Santana.
