The Cuban diplomat highlighted the importance of the event dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the triumph of January 1, 1959, when he presented the pieces by the movie maker Elena Tijonova and the writer Vladimir Vicherov in the venue of the Cuban legation.
This evening was part of a program that we will undertake together with our friends during the year 2008 in order to commemorate the victory which opened the way for social justice and the independence of our people, expressed Martí.
The producer highlighted that the testimonies included in the documentary reflect the attitude of solidarity of the Literature Nobel Prize towards the country that inspired in him The old man and the sea and its young Revolution.
Along the movie it is made evident Hemingways admiration for Fidel Castro, expressed in the sympathy that was established between both of them, pointed out Tijonova.
For his part, Vicherov went into great detail in his life experiences between 1960 and 1970 as a translator and engineer in expeditions of land and sea geological prospecting along the Cuban geography, which he narrates in the book.
To participate in the honest solidarity that was offered by soviet workers to Cuba fills me with pride because there is still free education, health and social security despite the U.S. blockade.
In this event there were also present the vice-director of Latin America in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Igor Yechov, the first vice-president of the Russia-Cuba Friendship Association, Igor Kuretnoi and almost a hundred guest personalities.
