The event will kick off with documentary "Mi vida dentro" (My Life Inside) at the emblematic hall of the Cinematheque of Cuba and the attendance of its young filmmaker Lucía Gajá, who will present her work to the audience and specially to the students of the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) and of the International School of Cinema and Television.
The film, made in 2007, tells the story of Mexican Rosa, who migrated illegally to the United States at the age of 17. In 2003, she was arrested on suspicion of murder and committed for trial in 2005. This is a real story that reveals the agonies of the migratory waves in the border.
This film moved the audience and its director who, had previously won the Silver Ariel in 2005, for her documentary short film "Soy" (I am), reaffirmed herself as a talented director within the new Mexican cinema. The documentary, which will be shown as a premiere in Cuba, won the Prize for Best Mexican Documentary at the 2007 Morelia International Film Festival and the Musa Award granted by the Association of Women in Film and Television A.C., as well as the Grand Jury Prize at the 2008 Human Rights Festival in Paris.
