For this year there are plans to build the Hotel Ordóñez in the municipality of Gibara, and also begin the construction of two small hotels in the city of Holguin, one being the "Libertad" Hotel for the Islazul chain, for both national and foreign tourism.
The construction of the "La caballeriza" Hotel, of 10 to 15 rooms belonging to the "Encanto" network is also planned, which will be located in the place where Major General Calixto García Iñiguez had his stables, adjacent to the birthplace of the Mambí hero, whom José Martí called it the 'Man of the Star on his forehead.
Marrero recognized the achievements of Holguin in tourism which closed the winter season with an increase of 11.7 percent, demonstrating the effort made by workers and managers of its facilities to improve the quality of service.
"Now the priority should be to use all the investments to expand tourist facilities well and have an extensive and intensive growth of tourism", said Marrero .
"We are convinced that with the quality and professionalism of the workers of tourism in the territory, Holguin will have an outstanding future in this sector, which gets stronger every day."
Marrero urged workers to continue with their commitment that represents the proud Cuban people as their ambassadors and continue serving, with quality, the more than two million visitors that are expected to come to Cuba in the current year, because they too will later become promoters of our reality in the world.
