In interview with Prensa Latina, she added that International Fair Cubadisco 2008, to take place May 17-25, will serve to express not only the vertiginous development of phonographs in Cuba, but also to express the Latin American alternative art.
It is about a permanent commitment, she commented, and Cuban Record Industry has gained that responsibility.
Cubadisco promotes the most diverse musical genres (rock, pop, Hip-Hop, infantile, lyrical, vowel-instrumental, folkloric and dance music (among others) and it groups them in 31 categories of contest.
In its twelfth edition, this event pays tribute to Africa and it will count with the participation of about 12 Ministers of Culture of that continent, Vice-President of the Organizing Committee specified.
Cinematographic projections, lectures, concerts, painting exhibitions, and presentations of discs and books are part of the program of activities.
On the other hand, this encounter will be focused on the development of discography in Cuba and the contributions of the so-called black continent to Latin American culture.
