India, Cuba to Foment Economic Ties

Sharma welcomed Cuba's deputy minister for foreign trade Eduardo Escandell, who is leading the largest Cuban business mission to New Delhi in 50 years of bilateral ties, to explore business, investment and trade opportunities.
Escandell invited Sharma to visit the island state to further develop bilateral ties. The Cuban official has already met with Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Renewable Energy Minister Vilas Muttemwar. he will also be calling on Commerce Minister Kamal Nath.
The 19-member Cuban mission is made up of representatives from the chemistry, pharmacology, wood, sugar, iron and steel, tourism, banking, biotechnology, transportation, textiles, energy and trade sectors.
