In the southern city of Valdivia, representatives of different Chilean regions approved a declaration of alert about Bush's speech, which could mean the beginning of new aggressions and measures to intensify the blockade, the text said.
The declaration also exhorts Chileans to reject this new threat and hold the flags of true solidarity with Cuba, recalling that the empire does not rest in its effort to take over the Third World's energy and food resources.
The US government, obsessed with the idea of destroying the Cuban Revolution, has violated all rules for civilized coexistence among States, the document said.
In this respect, it called President Michelle Bachelet to order that the Chilean government speaks in favor of respect to the peoples' self determination in the relevant international authorities.
Idania Ramos, of the ICAP (Cuban Institute of friendship with the Peoples), reported to the delegates about Cuba's current situation and thanked support by the Chilean solidarity groups.
The need to strengthen the struggle for releasing the five Cuban antiterrorists that have been jailed in the United States for ten years, calling to participate in an international solidarity campaign in August, is among the meeting's agreements.
In this reference, the meeting assessed the recent appearance of Chilean Judge Juan Guzman Tapia in a hearing of the trial in Atlanta, the United States, where he confirmed absence of incriminating evidence against Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez, Fernando Gonzalez, and Gerardo Hernandez.
It was also ratified that the 16th National Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba would be held in the city of Coquimbo, 289 miles north from Santiago de Chile, from November 7-9, 2008.
One hundred people, including leaders of the Workers' Unitary Central Union and several political parties, as well as councilors of towns near Valdivia, 497 miles south from Santiago, went to a cultural gathering at the end of the meeting.
