The lyrics of Silvo´s song, entitled: ´Tonada del albedrío´, highlights Che´s warning about the lack of credibility of U.S. imperialism, contrasting it to the revolutionary´s love for his people.

In his song, Silvio highlights how proud Guevara was of being the person he was, a principled, dignified man and how he despised insensitive, artificial and selfish people.

The new website www.che80.co.cu includes statements by Latin American intellectuals and artists on the legendary revolutionary. The posted works are in the most diverse formats: poetry, prose and photography.

The project is sponsored by the Che Guevara Studies Center, the Havana-based Casa de las Américas cultural institution and the Pablo de la Torriente Brau Center.

Among the statements appearing on the new website are those of Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano, Brazilian intellectual Frei Betto and U.S. author James Cockcroft.

The website also includes works by Cuban novelist Alejo Carpentier, intellectual Haydeé Santamaría and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Rigoberta Menchú.

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna -internationally known as Guerrilla Commander Che or Legendary Guerrilla Fighter - was born in Argentina on June 14th, 1928 and was killed in Bolivia on October 8, 1967.
