The Camilo Cienfuegos oil refinery could reach or surpass, by the end of June, nine million barrels of crude oil.

This will continue over-fulfilling the quota already reached since June 11, when it produced eight million barrels, PDV-CUPET S.A. Joint Company Nacional manager Raul Perez del Prado told Juventud Rebelde newspaper.

This entity was opened on December 21, 2007 in the province of Cienfuegos by Cuban President Raul Castro and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez.

Perez de Prado estimated that there are conditions to surpass the refinery plan of this year, set at 19.4 million barrels.

 As an example of the good general functioning of the Bolivarian Alternative for the Peoples of America (ALBA) project for the Caribbean energy integration, he said that the new turbofuel plant will soon be working normally.
