ICAIC has produced over 5,000 feature length and short films, documentaries and cartoons and hoped to win more space and brace work.
For September he announced the premier of Kamgamba of Rogelio Paris, "one of the most complex films in Cuban cinema," plus El cuerno de la abundancia, Omerta, Anunciacion, El premio flaco, Los dioses rotos and Ciudad en rojo.
Among the documentary films are Che, of Argentinean Tristn Bauer; El, ustedes, nosotros, and Breton es un bebe.
The agenda includes an international symposium and a forum with Latin American film makers linked to ICAIC, national and international film displays and a collection of stamps devoted to the most relevant films issued along these five decades.
Gonzalez added that several festivals in the region will honor ICAIC in 2009, among them Cartagena de Indias, Colombia; and Ceara, Brazil.
