According to Granma news daily, prior to his departure, the visitor and his accompanying delegation met with his Cuban counterpart Esteban Lazo Hernandez.

Mohamed Sheik thanked Lazo for the hospitality of the Cuban people and government and, particularly, for his meeting with students and professors at the Havana-based Latin American School of Medicine.

“This visit further strengthens the close and fraternal friendship ties between our two peoples,” said the Tanzanian VP.

For his part, Lazo thanked Mohamed Sheik for his country’s solidarity with Cuba at all international forums.

The visiting delegation was seen off at the Jose Marti International Airport by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation Marta Lomas.
